• April - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) receives the 2013 Business of the Year award from the South Florida Business Journal.

• March - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) sponsors the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Miami program, Bully-Free-0-Five, a cause devoted to educating teenagers to help stop bullying in Miami-Dade County public schools.
  
  Kentucky Gas & Electric (KYG&E) begins supplying natural gas to customers in the Columbia of Kentucky service area.
  
  
• February - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) is recognized as the 6th Best Place to Work in South Florida in the large company category by the South Florida Business Journal.
  
  Pennsylvania Gas & Electric (PAG&E) begins supplying natural gas to customers in the People’s Natural Gas service area.
  
  Maryland Gas & Electric (MDG&E) begins supplying natural gas to customers in the Washington Gas Light service area.
  
  U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) gives back to the local community through participating in the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami's Blitz Build program to help construct 10 homes for the Habitate Landings community.
  
  
• January - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) attends the 5LINX® International Show in New Orleans, LA, to promote our residential and small commercial energy products to 5LINX® sales representatives.
  
  U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E), through our partnership with 5LINX®, provides an opportunity for the 5LINX® sales representatives to sell our residential and small commercial energy products in Pennsylvania.

2012

• December - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) hosts the annual Holiday Party at the Doral in Doral, Florida. USG&E honors members of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve at the event through participation in the Toys for Tots program to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas.  In addition, multiple employees were awarded for their exceptional efforts in the workplace.
  
  
• November - Florida Governor Rick Scott visits U.S. Gas & Electric to congratulate the company for its job creation efforts in Florida. A press conference was held by Governor Scott with USG&E CEO Doug Marcille and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce President Barry Johnson to highlight U.S. Gas & Electric's expansion efforts (300 new jobs to be added in 2013). Governor Scott also honored Doug Marcille by appointing him as a "Florida Business Ambassador" and presenting him with a medal. 
  
  
• October - U.S. Gas & Electric is ranked by Inc. Magazine as the 67th Fastest-Growing Company in ththe Energy Industry and the 6th Fastest-Growing Private Energy Marketer. This marks the 4th year in a row that USG&E has been ranked on the prestigious Inc. Magazine list.

U.S. Gas & Electric provides assistance to employees affected by Hurricane Sandy by purchasing gasoline generators in South Florida and driving the equipment to employees’ homes in New York and New Jersey.

Pennsylvania Gas & Electric (“PAG&E”) begins supplying electricity to customers in the Penn Power service areas.

• September - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) attends the 5LINX® International Show in Atlanta, GA, to promote our residential energy products to 5LINX® sales representatives.

U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E), through our partnership with 5LINX®, provides an opportunity for the 5LINX® sales representatives to sell our small commercial energy products in Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and New York.

Pennsylvania Gas & Electric (“PAG&E”) begins supplying electricity to customers in the Metropolitan Edison Company and Penelec service areas.

• August - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) is recognized as the 35th Best Companies to Work For in Florida by Florida Trend magazine.

Maryland Gas & Electric (MDG&E) begins supplying electricity to customers in the Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative service area.

• July - The South Florida Business Journal recognizes U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) as the 26th largest privately held company in South Florida.

Maryland Gas & Electric (MDG&E) begins supplying electricity to customers in the Delmarva Power and Pepco Holdings service area.

Massachusetts Gas & Electric (MAG&E) begins supplying electricity to customers in the Nantucket Electric (National Grid) service area.

• June - Florida Trend magazine ranks U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) as the 105th top private company.

U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) is presented with the “Good to Great” award by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. This prestigious award spotlights companies that have achieved greatness in their mission and have established themselves as industry leaders from solid to great performance.

• May - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) attends the 5LINX® International Show in Las Vegas, NV, to promote our residential energy products to 5LINX® sales representatives. 

• April – U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) recognized as the 2012 Emerging Company of the Year by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) South Florida Chapter.
  

U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) announced as a finalist in the 2012 Technology Leaders award by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Connecticut Gas & Electric (CTG&E) begins supplying electricity to customers in the United Illuminating service area.

• March – U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) attends four 5LINX® regional events in Fort Lauderdale, Maryland, Massachusetts and New York to promote our residential energy products to 5LINX® sales representatives.

Massachusetts Gas & Electric (MAG&E) begins supplying electricity to customers in the WMECo, Mass Electric and NStar service areas.

Connecticut Gas & Electric (CTG&E) begins supplying electricity to customers in the Connecticut Light & Power service area.

• February - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) is recognized as the 8th Best Place to Work in South Florida in the large company category by the South Florida Business Journal.

• January – U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) partners with 5LINX®, a multi-level marketing company, to provide an opportunity for the 5LINX® sales representatives to sell our residential energy products in Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and New York.

• December - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) participates in the Steps for Healing 5K Run/Walk benefitting the Children’s Bereavement Center held in North Miami, FL. USG&E raises over $375.00 to assist children and their families in dealing with the loss of a significant loved one.
  
  Pennsylvania Gas & Electric (PAG&E) begins supplying electricity to customers in the Duquesne Light Energy service area and Allegheny Energy service area.
  
  U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) hosts the annual Holiday Party at the Doral in Doral, Florida.   U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) launches the Partners in Power program offering affinity partnerships to companies and non-profit organizations interested in providing highly competitive energy rates to employees, members, and associates.
  
  
• October - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) participates in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event held in Miami, Florida. USG&E raises over $5,776 to assist the foundation with finding a cure for breast cancer.
  
  
• September - U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) forms a strategic alliance with Petro, a home heating oil and air conditioning services company. The partnership enables USG&E and Petro to provide additional products and services to customers.
