Consumer Alert - January 14, 2014

We have been alerted that fraudulent invoices purporting to be from Pennsylvania may have been issued by unrelated third parties.  Pennsylvania Gas & Electric did not participate in the creation or distribution of these invoices.  We have been advised that these emails contain malware and opening any links contained in these emails could infect your computer.  Utilities and the Public Utility Commission have been notified of this issue.

We ask that you do not open any suspicious emails.  If you have any questions regarding your energy account, please contact your utility or our customer service department, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST at (866) 706-7361.

If you think you may have been a victim, report it online to the Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force at stopfraud.gov.

Remember, PAG&E will never send emails threatening to close your account if you do not take the immediate action of providing personal information.
